About us
At the San Francisco Math Circle, we make math accessible, inclusive, and fun!
The SF Math Circle is an extracurricular math enrichment program affiliated with the Center for Science and Math Education at San Francisco State University. SF Math Circle supports students from diverse backgrounds in developing their identities as capable, confident problem solvers.
In our after-school classes and camps, we provide a supportive, collaborative, and fun environment where students explore engaging, hands-on puzzles and games that involve both creativity and critical thinking.
Students explore these puzzles and games in small groups where they have the opportunity to collaborate with their peers and to receive personalized attention and support from SF Math Circle facilitators.

Please note that our focus is primarily on helping students to engage in creative mathematical exploration and problem-solving rather than building their skills in arithmetic or other traditional K-12 math.
About our camps
Our week-long day camps combine the best of Math Circle and summer camp: They offer campers an immersive experience centered on collaborative exploration of puzzles, games, and crafts.
We will have four activity periods each day — two before lunch, two after lunch. In addition to these activity periods, we will have math puzzle and game free play time, morning and afternoon breaks, and lunch. Campers will have the opportunity to play outside during breaks and lunch, and some of our activities will take place outside as well.
Campers typically explore activities together in small groups. There are typically 4-6 campers and one facilitator per group.
Please note: We will have a new set of activities for our Summer 2025 camps, so students who attended and enjoyed a camp last year are strongly encouraged to join us again!
Cost & Financial Aid
The tuition for our Summer 2025 Math Camp is $500 per week-long camp. In addition, we will offer optional extended care between 8-9am for $10 per day and between 3-6pm for $25 per day.
We offer payment plans! If you opt for a payment plan, you can pay a portion of the full tuition upfront, and then pay the remaining amount in monthly installments.
If you're currently unable to afford the full tuition, we have a limited number of reduced tuition scholarship spaces available. For information on how to register for a scholarship space, please see our Financial Aid page.
