Come join the San Francisco Math Circle for a math festival at San Francisco State!

SF Math Circle is hosting a math festival at SF State on Saturday, May 11!

At this festival, we’ll have a bunch of our favorite mathematical puzzles and games for students to explore!

This is a great opportunity for students and families who haven’t previously participated in an SF Math Circle class or camp and want to get a taste of what we have to offer.

Registration for this event is available now!

A few quick notes:

  • This festival is intended primarily for students who are new to SF Math Circle! Many of the activities at this festival will be familiar to students who have previously participated in SF Math Circle classes, camps, and / or math festivals. If you have a student who has prior experience with SF Math Circle, please take this into account when deciding whether or not to register.

  • The festival is intended for students in 1st-8th grade. Kindergarteners may attend, but only if they are attending along with an older sibling.

  • Kindergarteners who are attending with an older sibling must be registered! (You can choose “2” for their grade when registering.) If you plan to bring any pre-K children, they do not need to be registered, but they should not expect to participate and they must be supervised by a parent / guardian at all times.

  • Students must be accompanied by a parent / guardian. This will be a large event, and our staff will not be keeping track of all the attendees, so we recommend that you make sure your student doesn't wander out of your sight.

  • There is a $10 registration fee for the festival, but we’re offering a 50% discount for families who are new to SF Math Circle! If your family hasn’t previously registered for any SF Math Circle class, camp, or festival via ActivityHero, enter the promo code “NEW” when registering to receive your discount. (Note: Families who have already registered for our Math Camp this summer are unfortunately not eligible for this discount.)

About us

At the San Francisco Math Circle, we make math accessible, inclusive, and fun!

The SF Math Circle is an extracurricular math enrichment program affiliated with the Center for Science and Math Education at San Francisco State University. SF Math Circle supports students from diverse backgrounds in developing their identities as capable, confident problem solvers.

In our after-school classes and camps, we provide a supportive, collaborative, and fun environment where students explore engaging, hands-on puzzles and games that involve both creativity and critical thinking.

Students explore these puzzles and games in small groups where they have the opportunity to collaborate with their peers and to receive personalized attention and support from SF Math Circle facilitators.

Please note that our focus is primarily on helping students to engage in creative mathematical exploration and problem-solving rather than building their skills in arithmetic or other traditional K-12 math.
